Running club establishes operations in Arenastaden!

Running in a group has become increasingly popular. During the autumn, the most recent training trend will be coming to Arenastaden.

The Runacademy running group, in collaboration with Quality Hotel Friends, will be establishing operations in the area. The person behind the Runacademy is Petra Kindlund, who has a solid background in running, having won several Swedish national championship medals.

“Our first running group was established in Hornstull on Södermalm and it rapidly became overcrowded. During the spring and summer, we have been searching for premises in northern Stockholm. When we looked at Arenastaden, we quickly realised that the location offered what we were looking for; close proximity to transport links and beautiful green areas,” Petra says.

During recent years, running has become a much more common form of training, involving both young and old people. Petra believes that simplicity is the attractive feature.

“To begin running you don’t need expensive equipment or have to book premises way in advance. It is easy to begin and anyone training regularly will see results rapidly. At the same time, she believes that simplicity also has a downside.

“Many people believe that they can train as much as possible without proper information. I noticed that injuries are becoming increasingly more common among those who train too much and too often. To prevent this, we offer both theory and practice during our running meetings.”
